Track your time in the browser

Time your work on projects from any browser. 1 minute.

0:00 / 1:10

Before you start

Your employer chooses who tracks time on projects. If Work Sessions isn't in your menu, ask them to set you to Tracks time on projects. You also need to be signed in (see Your account as a member of staff).

Open Work Sessions

Press Work Sessions in your menu. The timer bar runs across the top. Under it, your time is listed by week (This week, Last week) and by day, newest first, with a total for each day and week.

Start the timer

  1. In the bar, type what you're working on in What are you working on?
  2. Press Project and choose one. The list shows your projects grouped by client, with a search box at the top. Leave No project if none fits.
  3. Leave the $ on (blue) if the time can go on a client's invoice. Press it to turn it off.
  4. Press Start.

While it runs

The bar shows the clock ticking. Change the words in the box whenever the work changes: they save when you click away.

  • Press Pause for a break, and Resume to carry on. Paused time isn't counted.
  • Press Stop when you finish.

The running timer is also listed under Today, so today's total includes the time worked so far.

If your business lets you run more than one timer at a time, Start another opens a second bar under the first, each with its own Pause and Stop. Time that overlaps is paid once; each client is billed for its own timer.

A timer that runs for 24 hours without a pause stops itself at the 24-hour mark, and your manager is asked to check it.

Check your time

Each entry shows what you worked on, the client and project, whether it's billable, the times it started and stopped, and how long it ran. Its label says Awaiting approval until your manager approves it, then Approved.

Billable time only counts as billable once your manager approves it.

Press Show earlier weeks to go further back. Press Filter to choose dates, a Project or Status, then Apply.

A long description is cut short with "…": point at it (or move to it with the Tab key) to read all of it in place.

The same work on the same day (same description, project and billable) shows as one line with a number, like 2. Press the number to see each entry; each one can still be changed on its own.

Fix an entry

Until your manager approves an entry, you can change it right on its row:

  • Press the description to type over it, then press Enter.
  • Press the project under it to pick another: search for a project or client, or press Create new project if your business lets you add projects.
  • Press $ to make it billable or not.
  • Change the start or end time, press the calendar to move it to another day, or type a new length in the duration (1:30 for an hour and a half, 45 for 45 minutes).

While the timer runs, you can change its project and billable in the timer bar too. The timer bar stays at the top of the page as you scroll, so you can always see what's running.

Press ▷ on any entry to start a new timer with the same description and project; a running timer stops first. Press ⋮ for Duplicate (a copy with the same times) or Delete.

Once your manager approves an entry, it's locked: a padlock shows beside Approved and nothing on it can be changed. Ask your manager if it needs correcting.

Delete a wrong entry

Press ⋮ on the entry's row and choose Delete. PaySuiteTT asks if you're sure and names the entry; press Delete entry to delete it for good, or Cancel.

You can delete your own time until your manager approves it. Approved time, time in a pay run, and time with screenshots can't be deleted: ask your manager to correct it instead.

Remove a screenshot

If your business takes screenshots while you track time in the tracker app, Screenshots in your menu shows yours, grouped by work session with the newest first. Choose a Period or a Project and press Apply to narrow them down. Press a picture to see it full size.

To remove one, press Remove under it. PaySuiteTT shows how much payable time comes off first; give a reason and press Confirm removal. The screenshot's time comes off your payable hours, and approved time goes back to your manager to check. If the time is already in a pay run, you send a correction request instead and nothing changes until it's reviewed.

See your hours

Time Reports in your menu shows your own tracked time for any dates, by project or client, and downloads it as a PDF or CSV. See Download time reports.

Good to know

  • The timer runs on PaySuiteTT, not your device: you can close the page, and it keeps going until you stop it.
  • If your employer has turned off tracking on phones, Work Sessions says so on a phone. Use a computer instead.
  • Approved time can't be changed by you. To correct it, ask your manager.
  • All times are Trinidad time.
